A message from your 2020 Mayor’s Golf Tournament for UW in Milton Committee:
This year would have been the 20th Annual Mayor’s Golf Tournament for United Way in Milton but during these exceptional times, everything is different.
United Way still desperately needs to match the $191,000 this Tournament netted last year, as the most significant fundraiser undertaken on behalf of United Way Halton & Hamilton. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to know with certainty that a golf tournament in September 2020 would be safe or acceptable for our corporate sponsors and our golfers.
So for THIS YEAR ONLY we have suspended the Mayor’s Golf Tournament.
Instead we are asking that you continue with your generous annual corporate support at the same level as in prior years. If you didn’t contribute last year, we ask that you consider a contribution this year. The need has never been greater.
As always, your contribution stays in Milton and goes directly toward social service programs funded by United Way in Milton. This year, though, we are giving you a choice of which type of program you would like to support. We hope that when you weigh the needs, you will say “Count Us In for 2020!”
Sponsors will be recognized through news releases, paid ‘thank you’ advertising and the production of a special YouTube video that will be sent to media, posted on the United Way Halton & Hamilton website and offered to all this year’s ‘golf’ donors for you to share with employees and on your own social media. That video will also kick off the Mayor’s Golf Tournament for United Way in Milton celebration dinner back at Granite Ridge Golf Club in September 2021 and we hope you will be there golfing with us, to be recognized in person.
