We Love Where We Live

We love where we live. Which is why we all want a community that is strong, vibrant and full of opportunity for us today, and for our children tomorrow.

COVID-19 has stretched the community safety net and local programs to their limits, pushing some of our most vulnerable even further into crisis. With the demand for social services continuing to climb across Canada, increasing by 42% since the beginning of the pandemic, we need your help.

This is our moment – and our opportunity – to come together to secure the future of the network of local supports that so many of us, our friends, and our neighbours rely upon.

Poverty to Possibility

Individuals and families who were already experiencing poverty and related issues continue to face overwhelming challenges.

Across Canada, unemployment has grown by more than 113% between February and April 2020. By comparison, during the 1981 recession, unemployment rose by only 88% over the course of 16 months.

Now, more than ever, people are struggling to put food on the table. Paying rent is a daily worry for many.

Healthy People,

Strong Communities

Do you feel alone? Anxious? Uncertain?

Isolation is something we’ve all experienced lately; yet, our current crisis is amplifying loneliness, and wreaking havoc on those already living in vulnerable situations.

For those most vulnerable, sinking feelings like isolation and helplessness, make daily tasks become daily struggles. In this social climate, physical distancing is making it too easy for individuals to slip through the cracks.

All That Kids Can Be

The past few months have tested all of us in ways we could have never imagined. And, local children living in poverty are among some of those impacted the most.

For at-risk youth, who have lost the connection to school, food bank programs and technology, it has been an exceptionally difficult and heartbreaking time.

YOU CAN HELP

You can help be there for our vulnerable neighbours during – and long after – the COVID-19 pandemic.

Showing your local love by becoming a monthly donor will provide the stable and consistent life-changing support, those most vulnerable are in urgent need of.

Did you know – every new or increased undesignated gift of $1,200 or more will be matched by the Sprott Foundation, doubling your impact?

Last year, you changed the lives of over 200,000 people.

 2019-2020 Impact Report

This year, we’ve already seen a drastic increase in community need, making this year’s campaign more essential than year’s past. As we move through the months ahead, we are guided by one simple goal: to do everything we can to ensure that much-needed support reaches the people who need it the most.
