I have seen firsthand the tremendous impact local programs receive from gracious gifts of time and donations.
Last year, more than 12,000 volunteers worked tirelessly to bring positive change to your community. These incredible acts of kindness resulted in nearly 56,000 volunteer work hours, at a value of over $1,300,000 for local charities.
Over the past year, together, we have been addressing our community’s most #unignorable social challenges, by improving lives locally and showing #LocalLove.
I extend my sincerest gratitude to the many supporters who donated their time to help those in need. With your courageous ongoing commitment, together we continue to be the shoulder to lean on – making our communities a better place for everyone.
UWHH, along with your support, continues to engage, mobilize community change and address issues most pressing today in Burlington, Halton Hills, Hamilton, Milton and Oakville.
Yet, demand for services is only increasing. This is why your United Way remains committed to supporting more of our friends, family members and neighbours. Some are battling poverty, some youth have bleak futures, newcomers are having difficulty with their transition, too many seniors are living in isolation and mental illness continues to skyrocket.
For this year, UWHH will be expanding our commitment to apply innovative approaches to address these issues through sophisticated design labs while convening government, private sector, non-profit, labour and you; volunteers, in order to make our communities a better place for the most vulnerable and future generations.
During this National Volunteer Week, let’s unite as a community to celebrate the many great achievements we’ve accomplished this past year, but strive to do better.
Please enjoy this video demonstrating how you have made a difference.
Thank you for demonstrating #LocalLove. Your dedication cannot be summarized in one day, as you continue, on a daily basis to be community advocates for the unignorable.
Thank you, for being the change you want to see, in your community,
Brad Park
President and CEO
