Recognized as one of the largest United Way bodies in Canada, Brenda leads the Marketing and Communications team with a focus on innovation, adoption of technologies, the design of brand narratives and strategic digital communications, combined with acuity for community mobilization.

In her role, Brenda supports collective impact, cross-sectoral strategic partnerships, community development and government relations that advance the mission and support service delivery for more than 200,000 local residents.

Via an impact and outcomes based methodology to creative stakeholder relations and story telling, Brenda applies a human centred design approach to implementing brand management, strategic marketing and communications plans, advocacy, market research and channel management.

Prior to joining United Way Halton & Hamilton, Brenda held the role of CEO for a United Way funded agency, Food for Life, where she earned the accolade of Canada’s top 10 charities by Charity Intelligence, 2016-2018. In this role, she redirected excess fresh food to provide the equivalent of 3.5 million meals annually to 80+ food banks and poverty programs. Brenda also held the role of CEO with the Canadian Orthpaedic Foundation where she focused on advancing orthopaedic research, promoting patient and public education and improving community care.

Preceding her career in the not-for-profit sector, Brenda held numerous executive level marketing and communications roles with national and regional corporate organizations in the financial services and real estate sectors.
